I am Peter, a New person in DC. I am a trained Organist from Nigeria. Can i find a place to worship in your church?

If you're into singing or just listening to great church music, be sure to get your ears over to St. Andrew's College Park. The choir is just amazing and the congregation not bad, either. But that's just the start. There are programs for kids and more and more little ones seem to sprouting from the back pews. A very devoted outreach staff help feed the homeless every month and the entire parish joins in on two shelter weeks during the chilly winter. Oh, and the service hits a very popular note between high-church (no incense, thanks) and low-church. Good liturgy, great community and always inviting. Be sure to give it a good look, your search for a solid church community might well end right there.

My family has attended several Episcopal churches in the Washington, DC region, and we have found St. Andrew's College Park to be a very welcoming and excellent place to worship. The new rector Carol Jablonski, the priest associates, and the staff care for all members of the congregation, and the music is great. St. Andrew's has a commitment to serving the poor, including providing meals for those struggling for food, supporting a homeless shelter, and contributing school supplies to one of the poorer public schools in Prince George's County. St. Andrew's also has a strong connection with the University of Maryland community including the Episcopal Student Center on the church grounds.

My family has been attending St. Andrew's since 2004. The programs for kids are great, Sunday school, service opportunities, a fully staffed nursery, and a big group of young families.
The choir is great, and is beautifully complimented by the pipe organ and occasional guest musicians. There is a full-time lay associate for education who coordinates Christian education programs for pre-schoolers through adults.
St. Andrew's is an open and welcoming community of faith housed in a beautiful stone building with stained glass windows, and a large addition which serves as "home base" for education and community service.Added November 13, 2016 by A Google User - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
I can't speak highly enough about St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. When my family relocated to the area in 2006, we had full intention of going "church shopping." That intention vanished when we first encountered the tightknit, welcoming community that is St. Andrew's. The church has been around in one form or another since the 19th century and is firmly rooted in the College Park community, enjoying firm ties to local families, and to the University of Maryland. The services are "broad church" Episcopal services, meaning that they have a consistent liturgical structure (interested Catholics will find the services very familiar), but do not have incense or other "high church" touches. The congregation, like the Episcopal church nationally, is open and accepting to all of God's great diversity (race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc) and the church has a tradition of strong democratic lay-leadership. But the real draw at St. Andrew's are the people of the church, who come from all walks of life and represent a range of viewpoints. There area large and growing number of families (like mine) with small children who find that St. Andrew's provides a collegial environment and a strong foundation for raising children in the church; there are a great number of professionals, both affiliated and non-affiliated with the University; an active campus ministry; and a large number of parishoners who are retired or are close to retirement. St. Andrew's is a vibrant, healthy, community of faith for people of all ages.
